Code of Conduct
We aim to foster an open, collaborative, welcoming, and respectful environment where participants feel safe and included. We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, and accessibility for all participants who sign up to the workshop. As such, all attendees (including but not limited to speakers, presenters, attendees, committee members, volunteers, guest exhibitors and sponsor representatives) must agree to abide by the following code of conduct, whether hybrid or in-person.
We ask participants to:
- Consent to hybrid format. Talks/discussions will be broadcasted online (e.g. via zoom), but only to registered participants.
- Behave in a respectful, considerate and professional manner
- Create a supportive, encouraging and equitable environment that is considerate of all career stages and subdisciplines.
- Refrain from discrimination of any kind – this includes race, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Be respectful and tolerant of different cultural backgrounds
- Refrain from engaging in damaging or hostile behaviors that could be termed bullying. This is defined as any behavior that employs threat, intimidation, or coercion, both directly or indirectly, to either abuse or dominate another individual.
- Refrain from engaging in damaging or hostile behaviors that could be termed harassment. This includes:
- sustained disruption of talks or other events,
- inappropriate physical contact,
- sexual attention or innuendo,
- deliberate intimidation,
- stalking, and intrusive photography, or
- private recording of an individual or their material (talk/poster) without consent.
Reporting Concerns
If you observe or experience harassment, bullying or any other disrespectful behavior, please report it promptly to the PAGES liaison either in person or via email:
